PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Every time a company comes out with a new or upgraded product, everyone turns in to the ultimate skeptic. Is this really better than the one before? Can they really do that much different besides color? These are just some of the questions you ask yourself, because this isn’t going to be a light purchase and, let’s face it, you want the most for your money.

As one of the leading companies in hockey, Warrior understands the questions of the skeptical public. Therefore, as a result of understanding, Warrior introduces to you the Covert QR1 hockey stick, the first question-answering stick that provides an automatic ease to your skepticism.

The QR1, being brand new for 2014, tops the milestone for all of the Warrior sticks. Countless hours of research and design, collaborating with a leading University to study the true explanation of how hockey sticks store and release energy, resulted in answers that lead Warrior’s engineers to perfect the QR1’s design. This was accomplished by knocking off 25 grams of weight, adding a Dagger T2 Taper to work with the super low kick, and a 35-percent lighter blade that ultimately created a stick that releases the puck from the blade in mere milliseconds.  These features provide the QR1 with the title of fastest release by any stick on the market today.

Always a skeptic – so light, it can’t possibly be durable? On the contrary, Warrior also combined heads with Mitsubishi USA to create fibers that permanently bind together, offering more strength per square inch, creating maximum strength throughout the entire stick. These fibers, along with reinforced corners and laser cut carbon layers, all merge as one to double the QR1’s strength without adding weight.

Finally, Warrior’s Covert QR1 Composite Stick has all the answers to put the skeptic’s mind at rest. Quick release, super low kick, lighter blade, Etched 7 Carbon fibers, and reinforced corners blend as one to give you a light, super strong, quick-sniping stick that you can’t wait to get your mitts on.

RATINGS & REVIEWS

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Unbalanced at first I was previously using the Total One P14 and the Sherwood T120 which are very light. I bought the QR1 and found it to be blade heavy. The blade seems long to me, so I took a belt sander to it and shortened the tip about 2 inches and contoured it perfectly. Solid carbon and no threads at all. Worked like a charm. Nice bar down corner pick last nights game. Took a chance and it paid off....

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Time Will Tell I have always been a fan of Warrior sticks, going back to the Diablo, which featured their dagger taper. I loved the release I got off of that stick, and eventually moved up to the original DT1. That too had an amazing release with relentless pop. So, I figured the QR1 would be an obvious upgrade. I have to give it to Warrior. The design, the weight, the release. Great stuff. My shots were noticeably harder and surprisingly more accurate. (I used it for the first time in last nights game). Moving on throughout the game, the puck feel is decent, I wouldn't say it has the greatest feel, but it is good. More lively and almost pingy with a stiff blade. So I leave the rink happy overall with the QR1's performance. All is well, right? Not quite yet. I get home and take a closer look at the stick, and the bottom of the blade (as well as the top from slashes) both have cracks that span 3 or so inches long, each. How can this be? I used it in one (beer league game, may I add) and it is already cracking? It looks like someone took a razor blade and sliced out two, quarter inch deep cuts out of the top and bottom of the blade. I fear for what the next few games bring if the blade is already looking this bad off. I also tape my stick about an inch from the end of the heel, so normally this doesn't happen. Not so sure about the durability, which has been a common complaint on this stick. Hopefully Warrior rethinks their durability design. With the "Reinforced Corners" and the "New Etched 7 Carbon Fibers" as well as "Precision Loop Carbon", I am beginning to think those are all just gimmicks. At $260, I don't like seeing this kind of wear after one game. See the photo below

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Don't get me wrong. I love this stick! I love the way it feels and the quick release. Flex profile is great, and the stick color and graphic make it look nice. The biggest flaw I saw with the Warrior Covert QR1 was the Durability. I have played 5 games with it in a matter of two weeks, and the shaft is all chipped and the blade is losing the top coating on the bottom of the blade and front and back. For a brand new stick at 270 bucks a pop i'm not seeing the build and toughness i come to love with using my Supreme Total One, which i have had for over a year with less damage then my QR1. Being this my first experience with Warrior and shelling out top dollar for their "best product" That has fallen miles short of any other sticks i've tried. I will not be wasting my money again. I have 2 more weeks before the warranty is up and i have a feeling this QR1 is going to break right after it expires.
