PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Experience the explosiveness of the Tacks 2052 Ice Skates from CCM. These are the first in the Tack family of ice skates and will provide beginner level players with the means to stay one stride ahead of their opponents.

Let’s start with the construction. A sublimated attack frame offers structural support for a standard construction. Working alongside the attack frame, the Tacks Ice Skates feature an injected core for enhanced support. The 5mm high-density foam tongue enhances the fit and comfort of the skate. A die cut plastic midsole also creates a supportive feel.

A SpeedBlade Pro holder gives 4.0mm of increased height off the ice for an enhanced angle of attack and a greater turning radius.

Customize your fit. The Tacks Ice Skates include a CCM footbed. These insoles increase comfortability which allows for better player reaction. The Brushed Nylon liner supplies a customized fit. The low profile injected outsole maximizes energy transfer. Ice hockey is primarily a game of speed.

When one stride can determine a giveaway or a breakaway and change the momentum of an entire game, do yourself a favor: try the Tacks Ice Skates. They will give you that extra edge.

RATINGS & REVIEWS

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Creaky. Very creaky. As has been reported by others, there's loud creaking and popping sounds from the holder and blade. The tongue is also pretty thin with next to no lace bite protection (but that's to be expected from cheap skates).

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good for the casual player now these skates are light, pretty efficient, and are visually pleasing, but if you plan on using them for many games, the blades start to creak when you walk.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from These skates are BOSS!!!!! 1st. I played hockey many years ago in NYC. (My coach went on to coach the US Olympic team) 2nd I have not skated in over 20 years and decided to start again! 3rd. I went to Total Hockey and tried on several pairs in the low/mid price range. The help I got was excellent. 4th. I was looking for 2 things: comfort and stability and these CCM 2052's fit great and felt great. I have used them now several times and they are excellent! 5th. If you are not playing Jr or pro hockey and just want a good pair of skates at a fair price these do the job! 6. I recommend these skates.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not So Great I asked the guy working in the skates section (a very nice man) to bring me a skate that ran fairly wide and was around the $200 price point. He brought out the CCM Tacks 2052, priced fairly at $130. At first sight they were wonderful, they were stiff, fit great, and looked good too. I tied them up and got them baked and sharpened. However, I was in a rush and made the biggest mistake ever. I didn't get up and walk around in them. ALWAYS GET UP AND WALK AROUND IN SKATES YOU ARE THINKING ABOUT BUYING!! If I would have done my research on these skates and walked in them, I would have noticed that they have an awful cracking/squeaking noise between the runner and holder. That being said; you get what you pay for. I will be returning these skates and buy a pair if Bauer Vapor X60s in an EE. If you can handle the squeaking sound of this skate, by all mean buy it. I recommend purchasing a pair of skates that will cost a bit more, but will protect you better, fit better, and not make a sound!
