Experience the explosiveness of the Tacks Ice Skates from CCM. These skates are top-of-the-line within the Tacks family of ice skates and will provide advanced level players with the means to stay one stride ahead of their opponents.

Let’s start with the construction. A carbon twill composite Attack Frame™ will offer precise and explosive acceleration. Working with the Attack Frame™, the Tacks Ice Skates feature a formula T6 Pro core that will give pro-level support. The integrated Pro EPE foam tongue provides a lightweight fit and comfort while a metatarsal guard will help prevent lace bite. A lightweight composite midsole enhances the blade-to-boot interface.

A SpeedBlade 4.0 holder gives 4.0mm of increased height off the ice for an enhanced angle of attack and a greater turning radius. These skates feature SB Hyper-Glide polished steel runners that reduce on-ice friction for better edging and gliding.

Customize your fit. The Tacks Ice Skates come with Custom Support™ Insoles that supply customized arch support and grant full contact between the foot and the skate, allowing for greater player reaction and enhanced speed on the ice. The durable Clarino liner— with a smooth, contoured design and moisture management system that helps wick away moisture—enhances fit and comfort for high performance. The vented carbon composite outsole has increased torsional rigidity. When combined with a lightweight construction, this helps maximize the energy transfer. The vents on the base of the boot will keep air flowing and keep your feet cool.

Ice hockey is primarily a game of speed.  When one stride can determine a giveaway or a breakaway and change the momentum of an entire game, do yourself a favor: try the Tacks Ice Skates. They will give you that extra edge.

--Jean-Sebastien Belanger, Product Manager - Skates

The CCM Tacks is back and it is a game-changing skate designed with inspiration from one of the most important performance facets in hockey: explosive acceleration.

Whether it’s the types of materials that were used, or how they were meant to fit and interact with a hockey player’s foot, acceleration drove our innovation.

CCM Tacks features the AttackFrame, which consists of stiff carbon composite reinforcements at specific areas of the boot, targeted at helping you generate power and acceleration. The boot’s structure is meant to react to your body’s movement with optimal energy return when you push off the ice.

Slip your foot into the skate and you will feel the interior edges of the boot fit nicely and comfortably around your foot. Heat the skates to get that perfected wrap of the skate customized to your foot.

To top it off, the Tacks comes with CCM’s premium SpeedBlade Hyper Glide, a polished steel blade, providing players with superior glide on every stride.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from CCM Still Maintaining the Tradition Bought the skates several months ago. I have been in CCM skates for more than 55 years. I have skated in the original leather Tackaberry's and the previous Tacks. I was sorry to see the line discontinued, but was glad when CCM brought the Tack line back. Took awhile to break in, but by far the most comfortable CCM skate I have ever skated in. The support is outstanding

Rated 4 out of 5 by from New skates, good value Bought these skates based upon reduced sticker price and that they were CCM. Had CCM U12s and the boot began to break down as well as needed blades. Instead, bought Tacks. Baked once and they fit like a ski boot. Snug and comfortable. First game, skates felt good and only got one blister. Laces suck and will need to replace with waxed ones. Weight-wise, not as light as I was expecting. My U12s feel lighter. Perhaps that's due to having less blade... Or the Tacks just have better construction.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from First pair of CCM skates Bought these for a buddy for his birthday, ended up not liking them because they were too stiff, I was in Bauer Vapor 1x skates that were starting to break down. Not wanting to buy new skates, I tried the tacks and loved them!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome skate Bought a pair last weekend....they are awesome. I have way more control at fast speed, and less effort to get there. I've been skating for 30 years, and these are the best skates I have ever put my feet into. Love them, would buy again, and again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Skates Out There Best skate I have ever worn, these skates are the definition of high quality. CCM Tacks allow you to get as deep in your stride as possible, the stiff boot creates a perfect stride and an extreme pop that allows you to be quick off the line. A truly durable skate that will last 4-5 years, the skate stays dry while your foot is in it or out of it. I wear the custom insoles in the skate and I never had to bake the skates, this kept the skate from having weak spots, I would highly recommend NOT baking the skate. Overall this is the best skate I have ever worn while having a sleek and sharp exterior look. The only downside is the price but the skate itself makes up for it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Skate These skates are awesome! When I got these skates, I seriously became a better skater. They fit very, very similar to the Bauer Supreme line. They are probably the stiffest skates on the market, so be patient when breaking them in. Bake them twice if you have to. They mold to your foot very well compared to other materials, and the stiffness and support provided gives you some great pop in your strides. The holder sitting four millimeters higher actually does make a difference, and I can get really deep into my turns, even a little past the point where I would bottom out on other skates.

Does the sizing of the CCM Tacks skates run the same as the previous CCM RBZ skates?

Asked by: tuna5007
I would advise going two sizes down from your shoe size to start with sizing of the Tacks skate.

Do you guys have this in size 8?

Asked by: Nick6060
I'm not an employee, but since CCM is done producing this generation of Tacks, I would say the sizes they have above are the only sizes left. So, no size 8. Other hockey stores might have them though.

How do these fit in comparison to the Bauer supreme line in terms of volume and length? Is the boot a similar forward lean?

Asked by: Slkjc
You will lean further forward with these than supremes, especially with that flexing tendon guard the supremes have.

Are they as stiff as the the Bauer Vapor line. Apx, Apx2 and new 1X?
Asked by: brimc
The CCM Tacks skate will be just as stiff as the top of the line Vapor.

The old CCM Tacks had a design for a wide foot, is this the same with the new Tacks?

Asked by: Heipfam
I, like you was a HUGE fan of old Tacks. I was super pumped that these tacks fit with my foot. They are super stiff compared to the old Tack, but CCM was apparently taking the fit of the old skate into some consideration when designing these. Once baked, however, these blew away thoughts of my beloved 652 Super tack.

Do these fit similar to the RBZ's?

Asked by: Judis
No absolutely not. The RBZ is a larger volume fitting skate all around. I wear a sz 8-8.5 in street shoes. I own a pair of tacks in 6, which seems like it would be small, but they arent. They fit perfectly. I tried the RBZ in exactly the same size as well, but it was far too big. I would have been in a junior size. Very strange. The bottom line: The Tacks run a little bigger than normal, and the RBZ run even larger than the Tack. However, this is based on individual fit and feel.
